Our Story

How did it start?
Over 30 years ago, the late Sheikh Muhammad Bin Saqr Al Qasimi (may God grant him mercy) gifted his son H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi—the current ruler of Sharjah—a beautiful golden dagger.
This exquisite & priceless heirloom had stayed in the family for generations, being passed down from father to son. But at a young age of 12 years, his son mortgaged the beautiful dagger and purchased books instead, to pursue his passion for reading and fulfil his dedication to learning.
Over the years, H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has ensured through various initiatives and programs that this power of knowledge along with memories of his father would continue to live on in the hearts and minds of the future generations to come.
